Trying to compare that to something else to get a feel of scale. That’s about 10% of the total mortgage debt in the country right?

Closer to 10% of all consumer debt (~$13T); mortgage debt is ~$9T.https://www.marketplace.org/2018/02/13/economy/divided-decade/fed-uneven-housing-recovery-great-recession …

You can send people to school, but it turns out they won't actually learn anything useful. Who knew.

https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/01/whats-college-good-for/546590/ … Researchers consistently find that most of education's payoff comes from graduation, from crossing the academic finish line. The last year of high school is worth more than the first three; the last year of college is worth more than double the first three

University is hiring more international and out of state students to compensate federal funding cuts while hiking up tuition, just down spiral the way it goes while military budget keeps growing. What’s broken??

Public and Private University Teachers Pension Funds should fund all student loans in their respective schools. See who they are willing to let go 100,s of thousands into Debt. Then they would have Skin in Game.

When the government issues a $5000 grant program, universities just raise their tuition by $5000.

How else to keep the educated from realizing how fucked up things are and try to change them? Saddle them with suffocating debt seems like a sure fire way. Bonus points for keeping others out for lack of funds.
