Standardized tests measure poverty. That’s all. They should be eliminated and children should undergo real, genuine and authentic assessment—that done by their teacher. @TAMSATX @TXParentPAChttps://twitter.com/DinahMillerTX/status/1192801841375002624 …

The the most recent set of standards are artificial. Read the study "How Hight The Bar". Knowing this, the tests measure nothing but hot air.

We can't do that. That would mean we would have to treat the teacher as a professional. It also means a bunch of people won't get their cut if money(this is good for education)

Demeaning standardized tests (which have important uses) isn’t what’s needed. What’s needed is structural change to address poverty.

Agree. We have states (AZ) that limit state funding to public districts, allow charters to take more funding w/less accountability and then force local district to raise their own funding through special elections that fail bc the reps don’t support them.

Amen! Texas. Needs to use authentic assessment that reveals what students know, not how well they take a test nor their socioeconomic background. #txlege #txed

I would really like to see “assessments” that show what students can do with what they know. #imagination #creativity #changemakers
