“We should always look upon ourselves as God's servants, placed in God's world, to do his work; and accordingly labour faithfully for him; not with a design to grow rich and great, but to glorify God, and do all the good we possibly can.” — David Brainerd

“I may be in prison, but I’ve never felt more free.” What happens when you take the Gospel into prison? In Oklahoma, volunteers teamed up to bring music, fellowship, and prayer. Check out Part One of “Hope Rising.”

If we define God according to the things we hear from others, rather than according to the things we hear from Him, we begin to see God through the lens of sin and sorrow, rather than viewing sin and sorrow through the lens of His character.

I don’t know of anyone who has taught me to think more deeply and biblically about trauma and how to care for those who have experienced trauma than . She’s blessing me so much right now. 😊🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️

Some of the regular emotional conflicts that pastors experience: regularly holding the hands of someone who is about to die and then celebrating with a family that just gave birth to a child....in the same day. — How do you celebrate and mourn in the same day? 🙏🏾

Oh, how precious is time! And how guilty it makes me feel, when I think I have trifled away and misimproved it, or neglected to fill up each part of it with duty, to the utmost of my ability and capacity!

“Every person bears the image of God. That’s not dependent on the money the person has [or] what the person has done or not done. Every person has been created in the image of God, and therefore comes with dignity and is to be treated with respect.”

Wanting a criminal justice system that is fair for everyone is not soft on crime. Wanting sentences that are proportional to the crimes is not leniency. Wanting constitutional conditions and true rehabilitation in prisons is not ignoring victims.

Not trying to throw shade on anyone. All I know is....if a bunch a Black Men walked into a state capital building strapped with Military Assault Rifles in camouflage suits, they would have been shot dead/arrested on the spot. Ain’t looking to argue. Just stating the facts. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Somebody must honestly be spiking the water in the church pipes with LSD if we’re buying into using the gospel OF JESUS as the biblical reason to ignore injustice. We’ve lost our ever-loving minds. Knock yourselves out. I’m no academic but I know a jar of nuts when I see one.

A5. In my experience working with returnees, the 3-6 months immediately after release are critical. I'd like to see more churches lending their best support to mentor, job-coach, and life-coach, esp. with young men who have a non-violent, non-sexual felony offense.
