I agree with Carville that Trump's best play is to negotiate a resignation, a Nixon-like pardon from Pence who would be giving red meat to the base he needs to run himself, and IMO a plea negotiation with @ManhattanDA for which a federal pardon would not apply.
I have been saying this for the last two years. If he loses convincingly there is a better than even chance he will resign to get Pence to pardon him. He will resign on the pretext that the race was rigged.
