    Heard another story today of elderly patient making multiple trips from care home to hospital via Ambulance, essentially not being ‘allowed’ to die... so distressing for everyone involved & so expensive - question isn’t just how to afford this; there must be a better way.

    Still not sure we’re asking the REALLY difficult policy question here: when 30% of annual spend is on people in their last year of life, at some point we need to have difficult conversations about death, dying & medical interventions v. end of life care.
