I don’t know why, but I misread “4,000 watchtime hours” as “4,000 views” and upon clarification I suddenly have different feelings about this YouTube change. Especially since I had plans for the Sidekick channel this year.

To be fair, I only make $100 a year on YouTube (my patrons on
@Patreon give me much more). So if a channel picks up and gets popular, the threshold won't be hard to cross. What really bothers me...
...is how it effects the people who don't care about popularity. The people who do this for the love of doing it who only want to make that $100 to pay for the editing software and break even. @TeamYouTube fucked them.
