I'm seriously considering leaving twitter for good. If I do, you'll find me in the #Fediverse at scholar.social/@telliott
Why? Plenty of reasons (gestures expansively). Most recently, m-u-dge's testimony yesterday about security practices and the hiring of state operatives.

When every shitbag conservative politician from Reagan on down asked you to level your contempt on welfare cheats and queens and grifters, I don't imagine the image of Brett Farve and a coterie of white Mississippi politicians and bureaucrats entered your race-baited brain, eh?

January 6th insurrectionist lied about his military service, claiming he was an Afghanistan veteran when the records show he is not. A disgrace to all veterans who served.
Now he’s running for Congress. #VetsForDemocracy

In June, a group of Proud Boys and militia showed up outside the McKinney, TX library during a Pride themed storytime event. Proud Boys assaulted a man who filed a complaint with police on the scene. I just got the report after being stonewalled for months. It's very odd.

BNSF, the railroad owned by Warren Buffett, has sent this letter to Congress urging them to pass legislation that would force rail workers to adopt a contract that contains ZERO paid or unpaid sick days.
In the letter, BNSF continues to lie about its sick leave policy.

i have been thinking a lot about the recent stories out of mississippi — the jackson water crisis and the state’s defrauding of family assistance funds — and how this political economy of corruption and neglect is very much a legacy of jim crow

On Friday, the US could see its 1st major rail strike and/or lockout since the 90s. MSM has *finally* taken an interest in covering this story but seldom from the workers' side. Here's a thread of our coverage this year on the long-brewing crisis in the rail industry

In Alabama, the attorney general promised during a radio interview to prosecute anyone who would help women make arrangements for the abortion. So that poor woman would have been completely on her own here. Because control and fear are the most important things.
Quote Tweet
A Louisiana woman carrying a skull-less fetus that would die shortly after birth was forced to travel 1,400 miles to New York City to get an abortion after her local hospital refused to provide the service for fear of violating state law. MAGA Republicans are monsters.

Please stop calling Lindsey Graham's National Abortion Ban a "late term" abortion ban just because that's what he calls it.
He's lying about what it is. YOU DON'T HAVE TO REPEAT LIARS JUST BECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO, media people.

I really feel like people are not appreciating that Warren Buffet and his friends are shutting down the supply chain to force Congress to mandate 125,000 railroad workers go to work with no weekends or sick leave.

These sticker leavers have clearly been moving intentionally through the area doing this to historically Black and/or “liberal” areas of the triangle - these popped up on a lot of the chapel hill and Carrboro exit signs a few months ago & I think also Hillsborough
