I'm a comfortable person in comfortable circumstances, for now at least. I'm talking to my fellow comfortable people now. Covid19 is not altering the status quo. Rather, it's exposing an unsustainable status quo for what it always was. Best to understand that.

How long before everyone that was laid off by this pandemic/wealth crisis is called a parasite and people stop caring. I don’t think it will take long at all. Rep already don’t want to help us.

I fear people will begin questioning whether it’s worth it to expend scarce resources on the elderly.https://theweek.com/articles/902582/conservatives-who-sacrifice-elderly-save-economy …

In countries where respirators are scarce this decision is already being made every day. Which patient has the longest life expectancy if they recover? Give them treatment, leave the others to die. I can't imagine the horror & trauma of having to make this decision over & over

That's exactly what the proposed medicare for all will do. We can't afford to treat everyone for everything, so eventually someone will get to decide who is no longer worth treating. You just want that all the time, not in relatively infrequent emergencies.
