The Iowa coffee shop shit was cute, but from now on maybe Democrats should focus on a representative state or states where you just count who voted for who. Jesus Christ. My children have to live in this future.

Caucuses are exclusionary. We should be trying to encourage, not burden, voter participation.

It’s also not just elderly or people with disabilities. My wife and I have 3 kids under 4. There is a very small chance that we’d actually be able to participate...which sucks

And people who can not be in the same room with an abuser; spouses who fear being seen voting differently by their partner; those who can't vote differently than their boss w/out fear of financial impacts... Caucuses are horrifically undemocratic

And people who work 2nd/3rd shift, people who can't afford babysitters, etc. Caucuses are the worst way to do this thing.

It's not right how caucuses disenfranchise elderly and disabled Americans.

Observation: My 78 and 82 year old parents have never missed a presidential primary vote in their (voting eligible) lives. But there is a 0% chance they would ever sit on a gym floor for 3 hours in order to cast their ballot. At least at the MDP convention we have chairs.

Because a national primary would turn into a contest where expensive television ads determine our nominee?

WOW: This tweet has over 40,000 retweets and is 100% false. I have receipts. Don't let misinformation steal the 2020 election. RT for the truth!

Trump is compiling a post-impeachment enemies list and Bolton is at the top of it. Trump had told people he wants Bolton criminally prosecuted. My latest:

Please re-read. I said hand-marked paper ballots at primaries. We should abolish caucuses. They are undemocratic and suppress voter turnout

Agree on all counts, Jennifer. We have hand marked paper ballots in Mass., every state should. Especially with Ivanka Trump's new voting machines on order in states across the South. I find it highly suspect she would want to get trademarks in that area of commerce to begin with

Good morning. The big loser of the Iowa Caucus is Iowa. Enough. We need hand-marked paper ballots that can be audited for primaries and in general elections. Plus it’s time to end the dominance of predominantly white states in deciding which candidates are viable.

I’ve been-and will keep being-a broken record on this: the powers that be have NOT done enough to ensure the sanctity of our elections and protect each and every vote. PERHAPS now that there has been a election disaster in a 90% white state, they will care.

    1. Time to add "incompetence" to the many reasons Iowa has to be taken off of "first in the nation." All the other reasons: a. Iowa is either *the* or one of the most racially unrepresentative state. The state is more than 90% white, 3% African American. 7% all others....

    2. B. Not only do Republicans register as Democrats *on caucus night* if they have the incumbent, but they openly talk about doing it. They do it to push the candidate they believe has the lowest chance of winning. C. The Iowa democrats are not representative of the national...

The real risk of Trump isn't the man, but his infection of our culture. He spews untruths. Slowly, untruths become normal. This doesn't reflect well on Mayor Pete. Making a truthy claim to victory is playing into the culture of toying with our collective sense of reality.
