        Without gold you can’t produce the ASICs that guess random nonces 24/7 and end up as tons of e-waste. If you seriously think the BTC ledger can survive innovation in anti-Sybil mechanisms/consensus algos that don’t require mining cartels then you are naive or willfully ignorant.
