3/ Tether can provide a blueprint for how a CBDC could work. Still, CBDCs might not be issued on a blockchain like Ethereum. Rather, they may be deployed on permissioned blockchain technology rather than the permissionless blockchain on which USDt runs.

5/ CBDCs may help to address many of the fragilities of current payments rails, as made evident by the pressures of COVID. If Rishi Sunak wants some advice on how best to implement a CBDC I’ll always be available to take his call or text.
