So what's the plan on handling these if you get them back ? Will original users actually get their original coins back ? A lot of leveraged positions were unnecessarily wiped out on BFX due to this event.

Ide like an answer for this as well. Thing have change a lot since then. Many of the customers impacted then, cant use bitfinex now due to TOS changes. It would be good to maybe write a paragraph or two on after action if the hacker(s) do take bfx up on this offer

@austerity_sucks Here's how the hacker can get the reward without jail time. A fake search that magically manages to track the coins down and return them to Bitfinex for the reward. -
still requires that: - hacker returns only 70-75% of coins, so not all (keeps the rest, is still subject to criminal law) - bitfinex pays out the 30% and puts it on their books, linking the hacker and subjecting him to criminal law too unless you had some other model in mind
