Privacy starts from the hardware. We need open source devices, especially Linux based mobile phones. I would expect much more investment and competition in this sector, a pushback against increasing global monitoring. What do you guys use? I'm waiting for Librem 5 at the moment.

I think the mobile space outside of Apple/Google is a lonely one, and you have to have a degree of tech competence to make that work. I've accepted phones are effectively 24/7 tracking devices & if I wanted to get away from that I'd go all the way to a non-smart phone

With Ubuntu Touch you don't need a great level of tech competence. I've seen normals using it with no problems at all.
