Apparently an unpopular opinion: No the Bitcoin fees aren't increasing because of new people buying it. There are a lot of new people entering the space but the vast majority of them are keeping their BTC on exchanges and aren't sending their coins somewhere.
It's definitely all a @Excellion plot to push exchanges to use Liquid.
