Given this is plain multicast, ide imagine is only colo colo customers ? Given this, do you have any numbers on how much faster multicast events vs raw websocket will end up being?
Correct. It will be only for colo customers. UDP mcast is not reliable on outside networks.
Latency is < 1ms. Also removes one annoying problem:
- if you have multiple TCP sockets you have to loop through them -> first socket will be better served
- with mcast you send once

there a lot of optimization that can be done using udp multicast so i guess my questions is "all things being equal ,including proximity, are events over websocket currently equal to events over multicast as far as latency and priority"
