      The choice is set by you when you choose the size of the position you want to open with respect to your collateral, this is spot, not a derivative.

      your point exactly? spot? derivative? I'm talking UX simplicity on Margin Trading @paoloardoino , right now on @bitfinex, you can't differentiate which trading pair is 5X or 3X. New users would be confused and would not know how to limit their leverage to maybe 2X or 3X

      Bitfinex has only the "Cross" option on the spot margin trading. No isolated leveraged positions. So you don't need to/can't set individual leverage per position.

      We have cross on normal margin trading indeed. But keep in mind you have perpetual swaps as well https://www.bitfinex.com/t/BTCF0:USTF0  There we only offer isolated margin with the ability of setting specific leverage
