      Yes, just need to implement a hardware specific adapter daemon and an HSM that supports the operations we need.

      Do you really have to implement an adapter? I guess a couple of shell scripts with socat could be enough, it's just a matter of redirecting streams (on both sides)

      You'd likely need more than 5 lines to transform the request into something that the HSM understands, but it shouldn't be too much 🙂 The current hsmd, including message handling, capability checking, signing, is just over 2000 lines of verbose C code 😉
