Isn't this just a binary thing? Like, they are both in the bazaar model. That said, if a "marketplace" of ideas is meant by the word choice, bazaar, then I'd say Lightning fits the best.

I understand (i think). What i mean is, both are designed public and that is the only qualification for the designation, no? How can one be more "bazaar" than the other if all changes are in the open?

The book describes how, even within open source projects, you can have a more conservative / closed groups. While code changes can be public, the interaction, decision making and roadmap can be more or less cathedral style.
