Got many questions lately about DEXes and regulations. I believe that if there is an entity that is earning trading fees then you have to follow same rules of CEXes. No way around.
P2P exchanges are the cyberpunk alternative in my opinion. P2P as in #LightningNetwork P2P

Isn’t P2P more of an OTC type flow , no need for an orderbook as it’s who can match the other side depending on price and size Interesting to consider how traders function in that kind of UX Can you still have HFT in a P2P environment?

Unless of course this is in the context of a DEX where an orderbook exists and exchange doesn’t custody users funds and p2P in the sense that when users order conditions met on orderbook send funds to their wallet. That is of course not OTC

let's assume a system like uniswap had a fee and the fee was used to buy back and burn a specific token. Would you consider this a "fully P2P exchange"?

A good question is: an Ethereum DEX uses a smart contract for each token. It means that one/more person deployed it. How this argument can be used by regulators? Don't know the answer. To me P2P is different: one node deployed by one person under his independent responsibility

What are your thoughts on Bisq? The community earns transactions fees, but I think the network can still run despite regulations freezing the community funds.

I'm not super informed about Bisq. But my experience so far is that arguing these nuances will be harder in the future. Again it's based on my current knowledge, not intended to judge projects.
