What it says is that the market is still inefficient. The ERC20 standard has a strong network effect and I’d bet that it’s going to keep going strong. But there’s no need to use the Ethereum public chain to leverage ERC20, and this will become clear over the next couple of years

Ethereum usage for USDT will die down, just like Bitcoin/Omni usage for USDT did/will. It’s only a matter of time. Public chains are inefficient for this type of product
