"Total volume" shown on coinmarketcap is completely made up, for any digital asset. Almost useless to bring it up :) But pick exchanges that you trust, and USDT volume will be right up there alongside BTC.

I apologize because I understood you were referring also to the volume on-chain that might be faked. I just referred to the fact that I don't like that value to be called volume and the best term I could think of is "velocity"

That's fine. Just that the chart you posted showed trading volume and not on-chain volume. But mistakes happen obviously, I make them all the time
