. @bitfinex is able to raise 1b USDt in 10 days, in a private sale. Private companies, giants in our industry and outside, made investments for > 100m each. A legion of inside and outside users made investments for > 1m each.

Are you saying 1 billion USDt of existing issuance was raised? That would mean 50% of circulating USDt supply will be converting to LEO. Or is this new issuance that will be created via Tether?

No, I'm saying that people also could invest via dollars sending to Bitfinex, not just USDt. They could also sell crypto for either USDt or USD to participate to LEO sale. I think it has been misleading (I apologize for that) using only USDt term.

Ok. If 1 billion is raised that would imply that 37% of all authorized circulating USDt supply (2.7 billion) will be investing in LEO. Why would investors take the risk of converting a stable value to a floating rate for a utility token?

People sent us wires, or sold crypto for fiat and sent that or sent us USDt or had USDt on our platforms, etc.... The 1b is USDt equivalent, either USDt or USD. If someone sent us 1m USD we don't convert it into USDt, we just consider it USDt equivalent.
