Fiat pairs will remain 'for now' or Fiat pairs will always remain? I think it's wise to clarify this upfront before speculative thoughts take a hold of this
We don't have any plan to dismiss them. I don't have a crystal ball from now to 10 years but we don't have any plan to remove them at all.

Thank you for your quick response, I would still recommend however that you at least consider to clarify this in a tweet / blog-post. Since you advocate to be blockchain-agnostic; can we assume that other stable-coin pairs will also be added alongside USDT?

We did not get much traction on the other stable coin pairs (PAX/USD, ...) but as soon as we do, we will be happy to use them as base currencies for new pairs.
