Thanks! Been wanting to read up on more how you do it for a long time now. Any reasons why you didnt choose something already out there, e.g. consul?
https://github.com/bitfinexcom/grenache-grape …, it's a really tiny node (< 400 LOC) that offers service announce/lookup on a DHT network and offers clients depending on the transport layer you want to use (http, zmq, ws, ...).

Basically we wanted to have fun, build something really micro, truly scalable, that could adapt to many infrastructure shapes and make sure our building block would be fully maintained forever :)

I'll admit, its pretty cool. Its like a small network of peers that will keep popping up everytime you try to kill one.
