I always find the discrepancy between dev-count in core stuff (c++) and "frontend" (like node) quite odd. Its same the same over here and it totally works out, just interesting...
Indeed. Finding good C++ devs is also more difficult, at least in my experience. EOSFinex and matching engine are relying on C++ for example. We use a lot FFI also both in Node and in Ruby to improve our routes under the hood

True that! The problem (in my experience) is also that for the core stuff you really need *good* ones. For frontend stuff you can more easily mix juniors with seniors, but when it comes to hardcore stuff, a junior easily gets lost (even with guidance).
