      While funding gun violence research is a worthy long-term goal, children don’t have time for us to wait for more research from the CDC. How many will die in the 10 years it will take to get that data? We have enough data *right now* to enact laws to protect them. 2/5

      I am prepared on day one to 1. Sign legislation to require universal background checks on all gun sales. 2. Support already written legislation to ban new sales of assault-type weapons 3. Close loopholes that allow non-spouse domestic abusers to buy guns. 3/5

      Chuck Todd just made the point that major gun contol measures will not pass until legislators see elections lost due to candidates' support for lax gun control. It's on all of us, as voters, to do our patriotic duty and use our votes to quiet the lobbyists money & power.
