The BBC reports that Spotify wants to "analyse your voice and suggest songs based on your 'emotional state, gender, age, or accent'". But Spotify knows how you're feeling. My piece from 2020 on music, moods and how January is not the gloomiest month.

I hope that in 2021 we remember that no two feelings are mutually exclusive. We can have grief and joy at the same time. We can love someone and hate them at the same time. We can want something and not want it at the same time. No one feeling negates or erases any other.

Got the nicest teaching evals this semester (I'm always super-nervous about looking). The one I'm most proud of, "I made all kinds of connections but best of all with others in the class." ❤️
