1/ One thing I've realised is that there's incredible amount of help and support for founders from the startup ecosystem (founders, VCs, friends) Everyone's going to help you to experiment, get feedback, and pivot till you find PMF. They'll even brainstorm with you!

2/ But you're the one that's gotta pull the plug on things you've put months building! And there's no right answer to when's a good time to close things. When do you have sufficient data?

3/ 2 months ago, we failed to validate our initial hypothesis on our developer tooling product. In retrospect, it was obvious. We were building in a space we only tangentially understood. But we found a goldmine elsewhere!

and I realized we worked well together. And of course, going back to get a job wasn't an option. So we decided to get back to identifying problems that needed solving. This time, we decided to stick to what we understood well - Finance and Blockchain.

5/ I'd spent the past decade in consulting, investment banking, and set up large financial institutions in emerging markets. Arunank had built early stage teams at Unacademy and built scalable tech at Jio. Our approach was to find scalable solutions to large financial problems.

6/ We found challenging problem statements in the cross-border payments space. Turns out, the costs and settlement times average 7% and 7-10 days in emerging markets. In the days of UPI, this kind of cost and timeframe made zero sense.

7/ My view on lack of web3 adoption is that the tech has been suffocated by regulation. Government's are worried it'll be used to evade taxes, fund terrorism. While we decided to solve for it. And in a regulatory compliant way while ensuring user privacy!

8/ In the 2 months that have followed, we've made stellar progress- 1. Developed our own payment protocol that allows people to build applications involving movement of capital across borders 2. Built a merchant application to enable merchants to accept crypto payments

The vision is to make payments seamless and open a whole new world of finance for the unbanked! We've got grants from major web3 projects in a bear market. In a month, our team of 2 is now a team of 7 We're taking UPI infrastructure to the world! And we're just getting started!
