Why would someone be a parolee if they committed no crime?
I actually wasn’t. That may explain it. I’d either revisit the amendment, or revisit what “cruel” and “unusual” means.

I think the gun one and this should probably be revisited, if our hands are tied by them. So the 8th amendment is to blame here?

(For the deaths) - if the punishment were slightly more unusual (delay parole by few weeks) these people would be alive today?
