You wanted him to be in prison before he committed a crime, do you not see a logical error here?
I mean, pandemics have happened in the past. I’m open to the possibility that another one may happen within my lifetime. If so, I’ll try not to commit crimes so I’m not in lockup when that happens.

However, with the current message, I feel encouraged to turn to a life of crime since there will be no consequences. Even if I kill other people, I won’t go to jail because of covid. In my mind, it sounds that the DA is saying “there’s no better time to be a murderer than now.”

you would turn to a life of crime? thats extreme, I feel no urge to turn to crime so I cannot empathize with you on that.

but you're aware of the 8th amendment, it protects us from cruel and unusual punishment, the prisons are liable for the health of the prisoners.

I actually wasn’t. That may explain it. I’d either revisit the amendment, or revisit what “cruel” and “unusual” means.
