    I am watching what is happening in Texas with horror, like all humans with a heart right now. I have little to say about Mr. Cruz. It's all too disgusting. But I will say I love NYT shade thrown at him in their reporting when they note that he is wearing a polo shirt *tucked in".

    I saw this tweet day before yesterday and have been thinking on it ever since. As always, these women are making me think hard about what anthropology can be moving forward and what it has been looking backwards.

    I'm editing our next episode and wondering what is anthropology without the exotic Other? The tacit yet present expectation that our object be Other - and the poetic efforts to absolve oneself of perpetuating that violence - has made an aporia of anthropology.
