    NEWS: Comprehensive new data now shows that "major crimes" were down 4.8% in 2020, and overall "crime" was down 3.3%. Few of the hundreds of prominent journalists and politicians will tweet or write about this actual evidence. None of the major national outlets have covered it.

    Also this could absolutely be a series because there are a ton of pro-cop folks who constantly unintentionally make the case for abolition. They’re so close yet so far.

    i really want to write an op-ed on true crime podcasters/youtubers and how their episodes consistently (and unintentionally) make the argument for abolition and why more true crime aficionados should be abolitionists. should i do this?

    Important new resource from my colleagues and pushing back against the drumbeat (driven by certain pundits and electeds) that because murders have increased, our only choice is to shovel more $$$ into police budgets.

    We must stop the racist, harmful, and dangerous status quo of cutting blank checks for police. It's time to fully invest in a more effective, multi-pronged approach to public safety and community health.

    Do I know anyone in ATL that could host my cousin for a while? They are based in NOLA but evacuated to ATL. Won't have power for weeks and is looking for a place to stay. They are a queer, Black, non-binary artist so plz only recs where you know they'll be safe.
