I just don’t want every conversation about FGM to become a convo about circumcision because they are NOT the same

I’m sorry, but that age ended not too long ago when the federal law against
#FGM was struck down. I’m afraid there is no firewall between male and female circumcision anymore. If you don’t want the issue to be about BOTH SEXES then I’m afraid you’re in for a rude awakening.#i21 reply . 0 retweets 2 likes -

As long as cutting female genitals is an issue, cutting male genitals is also. As long as
#FGM is talked about, then#MGM will be continued to be brought up. No longer will boys and men be erased. Deal with it.#i21 reply . 0 retweets 2 likes -

Then start your own thread. Don’t shut the conversation on FGM to talk about men’s issues

It wasn't about FGC but about _attitudes_ towards mothers. Every Intactivist (in fact just about every western person) opposes FGC. Every culture that cuts girls also cuts boys (THEY see them as the same), and we'd look less like hypocrites to them if we were gender-neutral.

And people have the same right to speak on circumcision. No one has said not to- just don’t overrun a thread about FGM to speak on it

Here’s the thing- they’re different topics and one shouldn’t be shut down bc men have decided women have spoken about it enough

The people who cut girls don't think they're different topics. Without exception, they all cut boys too, usually using the same word.

But the convo about circumcision was about the US. And the reasons why it’s done here are different than FGM- parents are more than likely

The reasons why either is done are always the same. Cultural ingrained inertia and sexual control. In both it’s always the parents “agreeing” to it, both believing it’s “beneficial” and/or a cultural requirement for social acceptance.

Not really. In the US, when majority people speak about abortion they quote STUDIES. Don’t deny that dude

Speak out against the studies. Find your own that go against them and spread those, but don’t try to explain peoples own reasoning to them
