I remember being afraid I’d be way behind at UVA because Republican kids would all know Latin & Greek & had lost no time doing multiple rounds of sex ed & no-nukes marches. Then, in a class about Faulker, one quoted “Scripture” to argue adultery is wrong. The regrets hit hard.

I didn’t go to the south for undergrad. Took me longer to figure out the average R was full of shit. The wealthy ones knew what they were doing: I totally understood why they would want legalized graft, tax cuts and evil judges. But I didn’t get why Joe Sixpack wanted this stuff.

College is really key. It opens your mind to so many other ways to think. I felt like it really taught me that the world can not be looked at in black and white. And notice how many conservative voters don't go to college?
