I already announced this to the PureScript community on Slack, but I think a more general announcement is appropriate here too: I'm "retiring" as a PureScript maintainer. (1/n...)

This means I won't be coordinating releases or organizing issues or PRs any more. I won't be working on PureScript the compiler or core libraries at all for the most part any more, except as a user.

The reason is just that I simply don't have the time or energy required to do all of this any more, due to other more pressing commitments. The project, however, is very healthy and left in the exceptionally capable hands of my fellow maintainers.

But there is still a lot of work to be done. I will continue to keep the PureScript book up to date, and will maintain the http://purescript.org  server for the time being, but I will be looking to transition all my other responsibilities to willing community members.

This means the compiler, the core libraries, the contrib libraries I maintain, the bits of purescript-node that I help with, psc-package and the package sets repository, and Try PureScript.

So please consider helping out with some of these things if you can! I can try to provide help for people willing to take these things over, or you can find help on Slack as well.

I'd like to also say a massive THANK YOU to the PureScript community, and especially to my co-maintainers for making it possible for me to work on such a rewarding project for so long. I really look forward to observing things as a user and seeing where the project goes next.

I didn’t use PureScript much but really enjoyed the language. Also the implementation is very clean and friendly for Haskell newbies (like me). Thank you for creating it!
