I know it seems like it would help on the surface and many of these other mixtures or things cause a lot more immediate relief but I have worked in many labs that had eye incidents: please do not ever use anything other than water to flush your eye, it can become dangerous

This got a lot a lot more attention than I ever expected. This to be 100% transparent is advice intended for aerosol sprays: it is NOT intended for gel riot control agents — there may be other guidelines. I heard that the mix w baking soda good is for skin and not eyes? Do u know if that’s true or not
-
neutralizing agents + water on skin are generally safe! there are images circulating about and online resources that have specific treatment guidelines. Just make sure to double check guidelines and to not apply in the eye/mouth area

Whilst this may work to relieve pain, the chemical composition of "tear-free shampoo" or "soap" varies significantly by brand and it's generally best to err on the side of only using clean water as a diluting flush for the eyes, regardless of chemical used.

does contact solution help? it's already in a very easy container to flush eyes in

Sorry for the late response; I didn’t know the post would get big and thus should have added sources earlier in the thread. Buffered saline solution is often considered a safe flushing fluid however water is generally seen as more accessible and best practice. Here is more infopic.twitter.com/Rw0qU8WkJT

i heard from a doctor that baby shampoo diluted with water is safe!! the shampoo strips the oils from the teargas without being as irritating as soap
-
i’m not 100% positive on that tho so i would stick to just water to be as safe as possible !
