Yes, it would be good for everyone to do the same and memorize the Roman Canon so that they can pray along with its silent recitation. Also a good reason to toss all the new Eucharistic Prayers onto the ash heap of history.

That would be a lot better suited to the present time than the average banal & ugly liturgy, more understandable ("oh, now I get it, it's mysterious), and more participatory (I never feel alone or disconnected in big dark incensey churches)!
Bonus points if parishes do their own beekeeping and candle making.
