Blueprint tool
This new tool allows you to draw 2D sketches to create 3D shapes.
It was designed to work in multiple contexts. It can be used for mesh instantiation, boolean operations, selections, volume editing... #b3d

The blueprint tool is not an addon, it is a native C implementation. Unlike most of the new sculpt tools, it does not have any problematic design or dependency. It can be reviewed and merged as soon as it is finished.

Well, can we support parametric modeling with this? Looks much more convenient than the existing ones.

It would be really hackish with the current mesh system, but it could totally work with custom mesh functions in the functions branch. It would be a matter of storing a blueprint per object and rebuilding the geometry after editing

That looks pretty sweet. Is this something that's downloadable, even in alpha or developmental form?

Not yet. I'm going to commit it to the sculpt-mode-features branch in the following weeks developer.blender.org/diffusion/B/hi

I've waited for this moment all my life.
