Yup. I'll never forget going up against real athletes in high school basketball tryouts. I used to think I was an "ok" athlete. That experience taught me I was not, and I never forgot it.

Same with things like F1 cars. You think they look fast on TV, but when you see them live it's extraordinary. Gives you a real appreciation for the sheer skill needed to just keep them on the track.

And strong. I remember seeing a vid of Jay Cutler, QB, working out doing squat reps of 400lbs. Like, 400lbs for average humans is a hell of a squat. A QB was doing reps. The gulf between average joe & pro is....vast.

I used to work at a shiny suburban health club. A guy walked in off the street, jeans, untied sneakers, t-shirt - Eddie Blake, backup CFL OL. Warmed up: tri extensions with the stack. Bench press: 3 sets of 10, 455 lbs.
