Loved the discussion about UCLA's LOCUS Unix and Single System Image cluster computing! And ftruncate's origin story: DOS doesn't suck! Unix does!
Wow, that was an awesome podcast! Jeff's stories are incredible, especially the one about REP MOVSB. I'm going to tell all my nerd friends about OTM now :) I'm definitely hooked and can't wait to see what other interesting topics you'll be covering in the future.
The Veritas part brought me back to my days as a Sun admin working my way through school in the 90’s.
I see there are many ways to listen to the podcast. It would be great if there was also a direct way to download a mp3 file of the podcast!
I particularly enjoyed the discussion about @intel Optane and databases. I read this report last summer and ended up with mixed feeling. Does anyone have hands-on experience to share?

Finally took time to listen to this episode, really fun! EBCDIC still lives on, even modern mainframes still use it! Every time I scp a file to the UNIX part of z/OS it is converted to EBCDIC. Also loved the discussions about channel programs / CCW - love them as well :-)
Wow that was a fantastic trip down memory lane.
