North and East Europeans grew bigger 7000 and 4000 years ago while people elsewhere stayed the same or shrank. The former was probably due to being lactose producing/lactose enzyme tolerant earlier, so shaping the health and evolution of ancient humans.

The 3 weeks of intense rain causing floods and disaster declarations across California due to warm, water-heavy air from the tropics are over, easing its huge drought, but locals worry how to manage the ever more volatile swings between wet and dry years.
"Bite Back 2030" campaigners last week picketed Westminster with a petition signed by 256,000 people not to ignore the 1.4m. hungry children who don't qualify for school meals because households on Universal Credit must earn below £7,400, regardless of the number of kids.
Covid-free so far? Great, but don't rely on your luck: wear a proper mask in the supermarket and on the bus, meet friends outdoors, check the venue you want to visit has an air mitigation system and ensure your Covid jabs are up-to-date.

When will the professional association(s) of dentists instruct their members to mask at work? Almost none I have visited did so, and the others wore only those fairly useless thin single layer ones when bending over patients...

HOW VACCINES SAVED NEW YORK $10 FOR EACH DOLLAR SPENT, PLUS MILLIONS OF LIVES. While costly to develop/deliver, they had an incredible rate of financial return, saving it from a giant $28 billion deficit without vaccines: each dollar spent on them saved ten. SCIENTIFI C AMERICAN
It's daily clearer that the Tories' slowness in acting on new Covid waves, combined with the refusal to vaccinate people in their 50s or bring clear air into schools, can only have one aim: to keep us focused on survival issues, so they and their friends can get yet richer.
Image
To protect children from Covid will require a visible, nationwide protest against the government's laid-back approach to the spread of Covid in airless schools, taken to the streets by parents and their supporters.
Image
To win, parents and their supporters will need to take to the streets, loudly demanding safer, well-ventilated schools and a government commitment to doubling the number of fully vaccinated people. Demands taken to the streets work can work - they killed the poll tax.

It's quite startling that for the second time in three years, the Tories are blatantly letting people die to make millions for their friends - and no one's talking about storming any Bastilles.

The eugenic undertone surrounding COVID policy has really shocked me. It has challenged my views of us as a society. Public health policy is now based on survival of the fittest. Those who don’t make it are dismissed as dry kindling. I really thought we were better than that

Nurses work 12hr shifts; sell their days off; use food banks; pay £1300 a year to park. And 40,000 have left their jobs in a year. Tory MPs sit for 150 days; get subsidised food; claim travel & energy on expenses; get free parking & £2,200 pay rises. Back the nurses please.
