I thought about the future and fixed 's ntpd to handle the ntp timestamp wrap in 2036 correctly. Unix time_t timestamps were fixed already years ago in OpenBSD by making them 64-bit on all platforms.

trolling developers is hard, because they're usually pretty easy-going and accepting of different views. getting a response from them is even harder than learning javascript (the most difficult language)

Open Wifi Security (Friday evening rant) 1) Yes, at our hotels we have open wifi as standard. No Client<->AP encryption (WPA/23), and no captive portal to logon to. Let me first explain some obvious reasons for doing so. (Often disregarded by infosec pros.)

Currently living in 2037, to test an openntpd diff (the ntp protocol uses 32 bits unsigned timestamps, starting in 1900, so they wrap in 2036)

Elsevier gets the dynamite out after hitting rock-bottom reputation: they sell lawyer usage data to ICE to help them track down immigrants. The gall! If your institution subscribes to Elsevier content, your institution supports ICE.

Odgovor korisnicima i sljedećem broju korisnika:

Moreover, OpenBSD has a fantastic culture of code review. Some of it is in public on the mailing lists (esp tech@), but much of happens privately. The quality of review and attention to detail is excellent though, IMO this is OpenBSD's secret: just about everyone gives a damn

In , an "ok" to a diff means not only that the reviewer looked at the diff, found it correct and an improvement, but also that the reviewer takes responsibility to (help) solve the problem if the diff causes issues after all.
