Having fun catching up with folks I haven’t talked to in years. Some have gone on a completely different path, others still dabble in #vndev as a hobby, while a few finally managed to make it a full time job. So lucky to have met so many amazing people thanks to #gamedev! ❤️

And to all those who feel like the world is closing in on them but are still fighting anyway, I’m so proud of you! Please remember, falling down doesn’t mean giving up. And no matter how hard the world knocks you over, you can always stand back up! You got this! 💪🏻

I won’t lie, it was super exhausting though. To go through all the events that happened to my characters and feel all their emotions in such a short amount of time... whew, I’m pooped. I think I’m sleeping early tonight. 😴

I was in a really horrible writing slump this past week. I don’t know why, but it just felt like NOTHING was coming out of my brain. This morning, I told myself I’d force myself to write, no matter how bad it turns out. Guess who just finished 9k words in a single day? 😪

Congrats to everyone who finished something for #yaoijam ! Even if you weren't able to submit a full game, you should still be proud of what you've accomplished. If you want to extend it to a full game, ask me about Let's Reads, where VN devs read demos and give feedback~

(I told a fellow dev I was taking a break bc I was spending time with my mom who was only visiting from another country and they actually responded with, “why can’t you just do a videocall?” I dunno man, but I think spending time with someone you love in person is better, no?)

Writers / artists / freelancers: you’re human too. You deserve to spend time with your family. You love your work, nobody else knows that more than you. But work won’t mean anything if you don’t get to enjoy life with your loved ones every now and then. Don’t forget to live.

after a short walk outside I got the idea to fix a plot problem in my current RPG. Seriously if you're a writer (but I think applies even to coders/artists) and are stuck on something, try taking a walk. 100% success guarantee 👍

Soooo, guess who’s replying to blog comments only now. 😓 I’m so sorry for this! I usually reply to comments as they come in, but sometimes I miss a few, especially if I was inactive/offline during that time. 😢 Nevertheless, thanks a bunch for the kind words! 💓 #vndev #gamedev

If you’re a VN dev who’s just starting out or who’s got some spare time on your hands, you should really consider joining the #SuNoFes! It only lasts from July-August and it’s super fun. You can even collaborate with others and make lifelong friends! 💜

Show a writer you love them by listening while they talk through their plot holes for 6 hours and solve it themselves while you offer zero input except to make snacks.

This is actually the first time I’ve ever had to replace a laptop battery and I did think twice about replacing it (it’s been busted for about two months now) but this laptop is very important to me since it’s what I use to write and code. Oh well, a worthy investment! 😅
