@ATTCares Well, anyone care to explain this? Cliff's Notes: • YouTube TV / YouTube streaming is *extremely* slow and buffers under AT&T Fiber • Problems vanish when downstream router WAN connection is swapped back to Spectrum • Independent of devicehttps://www.reddit.com/r/youtubetv/comments/9tzoxt/youtube_tv_slow_connection_and_buffering_limited/ …

Connection speed remains mostly locked at 19,000-19,500 Kbps with occasional drops to ~1,200 Kbps. While switching channels (which takes several seconds at minimum) it is between 800 - 1,300 Kbps. On Spectrum, it's ~32,000 to 35,000 Kbps with no notable drops.

The YouTube app and related content (thumbnails, etc) take notably longer to load on the AT&T Fiber connection than they do on Spectrum. Loading videos also takes much longer (10+ seconds apiece vs. ~1 second on Spectrum). Quality is notably reduced for several seconds on AT&T.

The AT&T router is set to IP Passthrough mode configured to pass the IP to the downstream ASUS router. • Problems persist regardless of streaming device (Roku, TCL TVs, Chromecast) • Problems persist regardless of interface (WLAN, Ethernet, etc)

Is it just me, or does this point to some carrier-level filtration? I suppose the modem/router could possibly be blamed, but it seems extremely unlikely given that the behavior is limited to YouTube TV / YouTube specifically and all other tests come back with strong results.

Anyone else heard anything of this sort? Is this limited to my connection? @YouTubeTV @YouTube @engadget @CordCuttersNews

I don't believe it is a problem with YouTube TV's service, since the problems seem limited to AT&T's fiber connection specifically. I have no such problems when the WAN uplink is Spectrum instead. Just didn't know if you were aware of any AT&T issues or shenanigans.
