If you create NSAttributedStrings from HTML, you'll want to switch to the new (undocumented) methods from WebKit in iOS 13. The old ones use UIWebView and cause some crashes, IME. See the +loadFromHTML… methods here:

Thanks to the efforts of the team's open-source contributions, ResizeObserver provides resize events for DOM elements in WebKit, and it’s already enabled by default in Safari Technology Preview.

We’ve published an explainer about an idea to harden SMS-delivered one-time passwords by allowing senders to associate the codes with a website. We’ve been talking about the idea with some folks at Google, and would like more feedback.

Important post about why having multiple browser engines matters. I’d add that the modern movement to take web privacy seriously would never have happened in a single-engine world.

If you’ve seen articles advising you to turn off Intelligent Tracking Prevention in Safari, don’t do it. That is terrible advice. Even if we had no fix for the issues recently disclosed by Google, cookies are a way worse tracking vector than a flaw in ITP could ever be.

On top of that, we have in fact patched the specific vulnerabilities reported to us, and have confirmed this with the researchers. You can even verify that the POCs cited in the paper no longer work. TL;DR: Don’t give up your privacy protections based on fear mongering.

If you're not familiar with Safari Technology Preview, it's a preview build of Safari+WebKit with upcoming new web platform features and bug fixes. Similar to Chrome Dev Channel or Firefox Developer Edition. Get it here:

STP 99 is a very much worth trying and testing. It includes the end of plugin support (including Flash) and other changes that we'd really like testing and feedback on.

How Web Standards Work 1. design a flawed API (it's fine! APIs are hard) 2. ship it in the most-used browser, despite objections 3. get cross-browser working group to fix the API 4. oops, too late, that would break the web
