Pretty sure this is an unpopular opinion but I am very pro border these days. People crossing might not matter today, because we have so many cases here anyway. But let’s say we contain this. then it's clearly bad. And the actions of the USG in the last 3 months, at all levels, makes me think any real attempt to tighten borders will be all cost and no benefit.

Thanks! I agree that saying borders are useful is a bet on the US being able to eventually respond effectively. It wouldn’t actually shock me if the USG never really managed test and trace but private companies and nonprofits made it happen.
