Thanks for the info. The PSA tweet isn't very convincing, the more servere cases may be causing people to take NSAIDs, but if you have more info on causality that's very useful.

So far as I can tell, there’s no evidence high fevers cause harm, and studies of fever lowering drugs range from “not useful” to “significantly increased risk of death”. Avoiding them for febrile illness seems conservative.

As for possible causation: fevers appear to be part of your defense against infection and not a consequence of the infection itself. If that’s true, then stopping them would be bad. Anyway, heatstroke is dangerous but natural fever doesn’t seem to be.
