Remember, “tax the rich” is no solution to problems of governance. The problems of governance are what you DO with the resources. An extra trillion dollars in the US federal budget won’t buy anyone healthcare if it all goes to Raytheon and Halliburton.
I mean, "throw so much money at the thing that it's not a problem anymore" is a solution to many problems. Not a good solution, but it is one.

The government's ability to print and tax infinite money has never been the problem. The remaining problems cannot be solved that way, and many are caused by that kind of behavior.
