So now it: - Has a plugin for showing slides - This sits above the playground and you can scroll between slides + code - Controlled by a markdown file - Any slide can set the text in the playground

I’ve started building out the v3 playground to have a dev environment for creating playground plugins ( my WIP plugin is a mix of mdx-deck + playground, see it in tab list) It’s a single tick box to start working with the template I’ll ship.

Figured out an interesting weekend side-project: Make the first playground plugin: Presentation Mode. One that makes it trivial to jump between slides and code, and keeps a bunch of my designs from keynote.

Almost inevitably every time I work on the TypeScript compiler, I end up on hackintosh pages looking at ways to improve my single core speed.

This hint though was also its downfall. It’d be quite easy to read hostile intentions into the design - a good design for an E.E.E of JS (which the team goes super far to avoid)

This set is one of my favourite WIP from the drafts of the refined logo for v2. The TS colour is a blue hue shift from of the unofficial JS logo, and it does a good job of hinting at TS’ purpose of being a JS superset.

I re-use this concept in the documentation for the TypeScript sandbox also.

Did you know that monaco has an API for syntax highlighting arbitrary source code? So for the new TS playground, I can syntax highlight static TS/JS/DTS trivially

📝New blog post - "Why the team chose to power their site with Gatsby" "I like this, because the rest of the team won’t need to learn React - just JSX, which acts as a proxy for HTML."
