Why is it that I ran into Connection Refused errors with most Hadoop components (HBase, ZK, etc)? Are they trying to tell me something?

Damn, 2 days wasted on stupid networking configuration of Hadoop HDFS on top of VMWare Fusion! Am I the only one who ran into this problem?

Tip: if you ever setup an 2-node Hadoop cluster mixing Ubuntu (on VMware) & OSX do yourself a favor and configure the Mac as the master!
